Between 1939 and 1945 a number of “medical experiments” were performed ranging somewhere in the hundred thousand. Although very little results that were compiled were actually useful to the German war effort, the experiments were considered highly valuable by the many Nazi Leaders. In Auschwitz a Nazi doctor by the name of Mengele went about conducting a very specific set of experiment during his time at the camp. His specialty was twins, he was obsessed with them. He would have guards kill them at the same time in order to see if there were any anatomical differences, as well as injecting them with diseases and pigments to see if the other survived longer. One of the slowest forms of his maniacal experiments was to secretly place x - ray machines around a room and have a subject stand in a certain area to fill out a form that could take him hours, all the while hundreds of x rays are taken, in many cases their flesh would eventually start to deteriorate causing them to have festering wounds and aggravated joints; making it even harder for them to work in the field, thus condemning them to the gas chamber and crematoria. Of the 3000 sets of twins that entered the camp only a few hundred survived the sadistic madness of Dr. Mengele - the Angel of Death.
